Contains short samples of two other songs. The writer of the lyrics to this piece, Jean Aylwin, was better known as a singer and actress, particularly for her character roles in Edwardian musical comedies. Aylwin (both her and Burns being Scottish) wrote the lyrics in dialect, "The message I wad gie ye noo/Whatever may be fa/Is never mind the lowrin' cloud/The sun's no far a." A photo of Aylwin appears on the front cover of this obscure piece dedicated to the memory of poet Robert Burns; *OCLC* locates only a single holding and it appears to be equally scarce in the trade. …
