Hardcover (green, gilt lettering) Subtitled: The Men Who Are BUilding the Panama Canal--Their Daily Lives, Perils, and Adventures. Good condition. Wear evident The spine is torn 1/4" at the top on the surface cloth and also on the under cloth lining. The foot of the spine also has 1/16" of wear all across. Other wear evident on the corners and a few light spots along the bottom cover. Some little foxing on the page-block. Age-tanning on the edges of pages. It appears that the true flyleaf has been cut out. The page that stands there now has a penciled signature and number.Frontispiece shows a medal to be presented to the ones who worked on the Canal (this is covered with a tissue sheet, which is age-tanned. "Fully Illustrated" 32 photos, plus a fold-out of colored maps inside the back cover (part of the paper is torn but present). The pages are a bit stiffened and tanned by age, but are all clean (unmarked, undamaged). Stout binding. 238 pages. Packaged using bubble wrap and a sturdy cardboard box.
