Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book concerns the reclassification of soils in Albemarle County, Virginia. The author's report focuses on a soil type originally classified as Edgemont stony loam, which has been reclassified as part of the Shenandoah River Terrace. The author discusses the differences between the Waynesboro and Holston soil types in terms of the composition and texture of the soil and subsoil, their agricultural benefits, and crop recommendations for each type. The author also discusses the Dekalb soils, which were previously classified as Edgemont stony loam, noting their rough topography, steep slopes, and abundance of quartzite fragments. The author discusses the potential agricultural uses of the Dekalb soils, including the cultivation of certain fruits and the incorporation of organic matter and fertilizers to improve soil quality. The significance of the author's insights lies in providing a more accurate and detailed understanding of the soil types in Albemarle County, Virginia, which can aid in agricultural planning and land management decisions.
