Binding is tight, pages clean and otherwise unmarked.Exhibition catalogue and biographical study of Allanson Hick (1898-1975), Hull architect and a founder member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists, compiled by Arthur G. Credland, Keeper of Maritime History at the Town Docks Museum. Documents the recent acquisition of some seventy items by the Town Docks Museum (largely watercolors and "on-the-spot" sketches executed during the 1939-45 War, when Hick was the only artist permitted to record activity in the Hull Docks under wartime restrictions), together with topographical and architectural drawings from the Ferens Art Gallery collection. Subjects include destroyers Onslaught, Onslow, Offa and Milne under refit, the bark Parma, the tugs Rifleman and Pinky of the United Towing Co., the New Theatre, Monument Buildings, and Tattershall Castle. With a biographical sketch by Alan K. Bray and Allanson Hick's nephew A. G.
