This Light permits us to cherish darkness in our wills, but it ever expanding and integrating life. We cannot argue it out of or into existence. Nor can we exhaust its meaning with words. It is adequate and can afford to wait, till every man, answering what may be his deepest desire, gives a positive answer and becomes new." A book for our own troubled time as well! Allan Armstrong Hunter [1893-1962] was also the author of THE AUDACITY OF FAITH (1949) and CHRISTIANS IN THE ARENA (1958). A Canadian by birth, Hunter moved to the United States where he was educated at Princeton Seminary and Union Theological Seminary. He was ordained in the Presbyterian Church and in 1926 began a long and notable ministry at Mt. Hollywood Congregational Church in Los Angeles. His papers reside at USC. …
