Das kulturhistorische Wörterbuch öffnet den Zugang zu geschichtlichen Sprachwelten in ihren beschreibungszeitlichen Kulturbezügen. Die Lexikographie ermöglicht sprachgesellschaftliche Selbstvergewisserung und Identitätsstiftung, ob im Fach, Slang oder im Dialekt, ob in einer lebendigen oder einer gerade vom Aussterben bedrohten Sprache.
