Beige DJ with brown text across covers and spine. Spine toned about half a shade darker than covers, faint scuffs likely due to shelf wear. Long, shallow open tear along top edge of back cover, does not touch any text. DJ encased in protective mylar sleeve to prevent further damage. No date on title page but stated second edition. Copyright page states "Second Printing, May, 1949". 265 pages. Faint remnants of water damage around the edges of the last 50 pages, none extending into the text or noticeably warping the pages. Otherwise, pages clean and bright. Binding neat and tight. This volume comes from the Aviation collection of Prof. Chris Sterling. Jacket with significant loss to all edges, scuffed, sunned and marked and with tape repairs to reverse. Blue cloth boards a little marked and slightly bumped to head and foot of spine. Binding tight. Some toning to faces of page block and pages, consistent with age and quality of paper used. Impression of inscription to title page. Contents unmarked and generally bright. 265pp. No illustrations. The book mainly covers the period leading up to the Second World War, from the perspective of the author having been based at Le Bourget airport and of the people associated with it.
