All Miniature books sized 7cm x 6.5cm (c. 2.8" x 2.5") . Highly destinctive original pictorial covers in primary colours of red, blue, white, and yellow, and featuring a gambolling lamb on the front and the back - titled in blue, with card covers cut flush, front and back. Stapled. The staples are rusty and internally 'bleeding' rust in places in the gutters, but all holding soundly. Internally there is a list of titles in this 'Henny-Penny' series (8 listed) on the reverse of the title page. No pagination (but circa 48 card pages). Numerous b/w cute illustrations throughout the book, only three are 'signed' - Grace Lodge - but as the story features the same child etc, I'm fairly sure all the illustrations are by her. Many of the illustrations here have been coloured in by a child, but lightly and relatively neatly! . Overall the book is tight and clean otherwise, with NO Inscriptions or other marks than those already noted. A charming example of an early child's 20th Century Miniature book. Probably a cheaper option to the publisher's hardback 'Tippenny-Tuppenny' Books. A delightful tale of Elizabeth Anne and her pets, and their adventures together! Overall a Good plus copy, but scarce.
