Richly illustrated throughout, including with advertisements by sponsoring organizations and firms whose views aligned with the aims of the MCARA. Our offering comprises of four non-consecutive i…ssues of this scarce student-produced journal active between the years 1992-1993 constituting the following issues: Vol. 1, No 1: Jan - Feb, 1992; Vol. 1, No. 2: Mar - Apr, 1992; Vol. 1, No. 3: July - Aug, 1992; Vol. 2, No. 2: Feb - May, 1993. Includes rich commentary, and discussion of South Africa's apartheid regime, racism faced by Indigenous Peoples, and People of Colour in Canada and abroad, a list of suggested readings, the OKA crisis, women's issues, crimes committed in Central and Latin America, the ANC Women's League, Nelson Mandela, the Rivonia Trials, Malcolm X, white supremacy, critical race theory, and much else. All issues entirely without blemish with bright, clean, and unmarked pages. Exceedingly rare in commerce. We note only one institutional holding of this newsletter (See LAC/BAC Aurora Reference #1082209260). Near fine. Not in Peel, University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections. Rare indeed. "Amandla! is produced by volunteer labour, and is published bi-monthly by the Manitoba Coalition Against Racism and Apartheid, Inc., (formerly Manitoba Coalition of Organizations Against Apartheid)"."Amandla means "Power!" and is regularly heard at rallies and other public meetings in South Africa. The cry is then followed by the thundering response "Ngawethu" meaning "to the people". Power to the people the world over to build free, unitary, democratic, non-racial societies".
