Vijfendertig beenmerg uitstrijkjes werden onderzocht bij diagnose. Fälle mit Verdacht auf MAS bei Erwachsenen, die zwischen Juni 2017 und Januar 2019 in der hämatologischen Abteilung des CHU la Rabta vorgestellt wurden, um ein Myelogramm durchzuführen, wurden eingeschlossen. Fünfunddreißig Knochenmarkausstriche wurden bei der Diagnose untersucht. Eine zweite Lesung der Knochenmarkausstriche wurde in einer verblindeten Weise durchgeführt, um die Anzahl der Makrophagen/1000 kernhaltige Elemente zu schätzen, die Intensität der Hämophagozytose, die Art der phagozytischen Elemente sowie das Vorhandensein von Bildern multipler Phagozytose wurden festgelegt.
