    Soft cover. Condizione: Good. "Brahms on Records" is all about what was available on the old 78 rpm records, which represented , at the time, the most modern of sound reproduction. The book was written by Robert C. Bagar, Music Critic for the New York "World Telegram", and Program Annotator for the New York Philharmonic-Symphony Society. The Foreword was written by Dimitri Mitropoulos (1896 - 1960), who was one of the most admired conductors of the early and mid Twentieth Century. The book was published by The Four Corners Press in New York in paperback format. This is the First Edition, so identified on the verso of the title page. As well as a discography, the book contains a brief discussion of Brahm's life and music. Johann Brahms was the composer of a host of musical works of genius in symphonies, Sonata, and a variety of other genres. He is one of the world's musical immortals. Opposite the title page is a frontispiece which is a line drawing of Brahms. The artist of the cover art, the portrait, nor the chapter headings is identified. Paperback format; 91 pages ; 4 7/8" x 6 7/8"; color pictorial stiff card stock wraps, stapled and glued. CONDITION -- GOOD ONLY -- This is a previously owned book that shows wear, but essentially remains clean and serviceable, with the following particulars noted : EXTERIOR -- Spine has no creasing, but is somewhat darkened. Front cover has moderate surface rub and smudging, and as well a small bit of staining (nothing particularly egregious a couple of spots near the spine, and a small section of the fore-edge); the rear cover has moderate surface rub and a scratch with a bit of abrasion near the spine fold; the cover corner tips are softly bumped; the text-block edges are toned, else clear. BINDING -- Solid.
