Otto Penzler, creator of American Mystery Classics, has signed his name on the title page, and has written the Introduction as well. Book was originally published in 1933 and was the seventh Ellery Queen novel. Book is straight, clean, bright, unmarked, unclipped, and gift quality. Some of the writers included are Laura Lippman, Joseph Finder, J. A. Vance, T. Jefferson Parker, Sara Paretsky.

Soft cover. Condizione: Fair. 1st Edition. Softcover protected in plastic sleeve. Red pictorial covers with black and white lettering. Title page not dated. Copyright page dated 1945. 127 pages. In fair condition. Writing in ink on rear cover. Covers have some light staining, mostly along edges, which are also creased. Rear cover is chipped along edges. Binding is secure. Pages are toned, with some light water marks along the edges of a few pages -- no extensive water damage, though. A few pages with dog-eared corners. Pages are free of any writing or highlighting -- certainly in good reading condition. Please email with questions or to request photos -- it sounds a bit worse than it looks.

Anthology with classic stories by Poe, Shiel, Leblanc, Christie, Hammett, Dunsany, and many others. Square, tight and clean throughout with very light wear to spine ends and tips. Very attractive unclipped, though unpriced, dust jacket, (370 titles listed), has some tiny nicks and closed tears along edges and tips. Still fresh, bright and solid. A very pretty collectable copy of an uncommon edition, particularly in such nice condition. (Toledano #69.1, p118-119).
