Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. ] Oblong hardback in plastic spiral binding, appx 15x22 inches, gilt on black paper-covered boards, 8 pages + 9 color prints, About VG/no dj (perhaps as issued). Prints (on coated stock) together show only a few minor edge imperfections + top corner crease to last print. First 8 pages are tp, cp, 2-pg "Introduction to American Art" by Reeves Lewenthal, + 3 pages of brief biographies of the 9 artists represented in the book with adjacent inset pencil portraits of each artist by Irwin Hoffman. The artists and their paintings in order of appearance: Thomas Hart Benton - "Wreck Of The Old 97", James Chapin - "Here Am I", Miguel Covarrubias - "Map of America", Adolf Dehn - "Tom's Farm", Ernest Fiene - "Wild Flowers", Robert Philipp - "By The Sea", Paul Sample - "County Fair", William Schwartz - "Walnut Street, Baraboo" & John Whorf - "Flotsam". Titles of paintings appear in very small type below each image + title with brief comment by each artist appears in lower corner of page facing each print.
