ONE OF ONLY 220 COPIES OF THE DELUXE EDITION (there was no deluxe edition of volume 2) WITH AN ORIGINAL ETCHING BY ROUAULT ("Acrobate", 1919, R. 3 iii/III, printed on extremely fine wove paper), SIGNED AND AUTHENTICATED IN PENCIL BY ISABELLE ROUAULT. This is one of Rouault's very first prints. Laid in is a signed autograph letter, dated January 22, 1926, from Isabelle Rouault to an unnamed collector, apologizing that the artist (her father) is indisposed, and discussing several of his livres d'artiste. WITH A POSTSCRIPT (21 words) WRITTEN OUT AND SIGNED IN FULL BY GEORGES ROUAULT. Folio. Publisher's cloth, dustjacket, and protective cover. FINE AND BRIGHT, WITH NO DEFECTS.
