Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Typescript, 21x15.5 cm., 48 numbered leaves, bound in ½-cloth. The title is taken from Seifert's 1926 book but the selection of 21 poems is a cross-section of his work up to the war years and occupation and is prefaced with an original introductory poem by Ivan Blatny. The book is composed by Václav Pletka (1919-1997), literary historian and folklorist who promoted and curated Seifert's work. Intended for the 4th evening of the Cycle of Czech Poets, organized by RAMPA in Brno at the Reader's Club on Friday, April 14, 1944. 48 typewritten pages with handwritten staging notes and cast names of the performers in pencil noted by Pletka. The performers were Markus, Míla, Hrazdil, Fiala. Half-cloth binding, cardboard boards with a gray paper cover, on the front cover a paper label with title in calligraphy, and on the back cover a cardboard with Pletka's catalog label. Pletka probably handed out mimeographs or carbon copies of the poems for the performers but this is his personal copy which he made into the book we have, a unique, one-of-a-kind document. Rampa was a literary, theatrical, musical and visual arts society founded in 1941 in Brno which was active from 1941 to 1951. It brought together young unallayed artists and provided a space for literature, theatre (the so-called Menší scéna), music and fine arts. The society was based in the Besední dům and had approximately 120 members. Among its notable figures were the architect František Hrazdil and representatives such as Josef Solař, Karel Krejčí and Milan Harašta inter alia. A unique item, quite well preserved.…
