Autograph letter signed (bifolium; 2pp., undated) from Guérineau to Ricord bound in; Ricord's illegible notes on the first page of the letter. First Edition. Guérineau's letter reads in part: "Monsieur et cher Maître, Permettez-moi de recommander à tout votre bienviellant intérêt, et à votre grande expérience, mon ami intime Monsieur le Capitaine F. qui vous remettra cette lettre et qui vous fera lui-même l'historique de sa maladie, je vous serai infiniment reconnaissant des bons conseils que vous voulez bien lui donner. The Chinese traveller in the west is a neat enough conjunction of a number of fashions and Guerineau has tacked together a few in this oriental imaginary voyage cum utopian social satire.…
