Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Bound in green pictorial cloth, with Tarzan standing on an elephant on front board. Hardcover. No dust jacket. Shelf wear. Front end page excised. Stamp on rear end page. Though scholars have long disparaged Edgar Rice Burroughs, he remained a popular writer into the twenty-first century, suggesting that critical reappraisals are overdue. Dozens of his novels remain in print, and numerous enthusiasts keep publishing meticulously researched books and articles about his fiction. He displays powerful virtues as a mythmaker, capable of creating memorable heroes and persuasive imaginary worlds. While the jungle hero Tarzan is his most famous character, Burroughs also produced celebrated science-fiction novels, Westerns, historical novels, and adventures set in contemporary times.

Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. None. First Edition. Original green gilt ribbed cloth with 'Published March 1917' on copyright page but '1918' on title page. The second Tarzan book, later filmed as TARZAN FINDS A SON. A very good, clean and unmarked copy with gleaming title gilt; however, the rear free endpaper has a 2x4" chip at the bottom, which needs restoration. Nevertheless, a very attractive, colid copy of an extremely scarce early Tarzan title.
