The outcome from the author's experiments aid understanding of weight-carrying capabilities and wing design for flight stability and efficiency. The author conducted wind tunnel exp…eriments to measure lift and resistance of various wing models, including monoplanes, biplanes and the triplane design. Results of the tests revealed that, at small angles of attack, the triplane design offered lower lift than biplane configurations. However, for greater angles of incidence near 16 degrees, the triplane exhibited a significant advantage in stalling behaviour and reduced resistance. The book also presents valuable data on lift/drift ratios and centre of pressure movement for the different wing configurations, providing insights that are applicable to designing and constructing stable and efficient aircraft. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
