A set of 5 Completion Reports and one Summary Review, each 22x28cm with printed card or cloth front wraps containing reports printed to the rectos only, affixed on top of cloth folders containing very large loose folding sheets presenting maps and data. Covers very good, interiors fine, sheets neatly folded with some yellowing at folds. "Imperial College" is handwritten inside the front wrap of the Summary Review, with no other institutional or ownership marks present. All relate to BRGM's operations for the Saudi Government in Jabal Sayid, located 320km north-east of Jeddah in the western part of the Precambrian Arabian Shield on the Najd Plateau. Since identifying the site or Prospect in 1965, BRGM did topographic and geological mapping at various scales (1965-70), drilling (1967-70), analyses at BRGM's lab in Jeddah with further studies in Orleans, an airborne geophysical survey (1968), ore reserve calculations, and two groundwater exploration programmes (1968-70) (Summary Review). The Completion Reports included here present findings from 5 holes drilled through the Main Gossan (the weathered rock at the exposed top of a mineral deposit) with respect to copper, zinc, gold and silver, cross-referencing findings from other Drill-Holes where relevant. The Summary Review covers the drilling and BRGM's work more broadly. (1) DRILL-HOLE SA2 (R. Mignon, Nov 1967): (2), 10pp, complete with 2 loose folding sheets as called for. This found a significant ore body containing sufficiently high grades of copper and zinc. Findings from SA1-6 will inform siting and specifications for further drill-holes. // (2) DRILL-HOLE SA4 (R. Mignon, Nov 1967): (2), 9pp, complete with 2 loose folding sheets as called for. This was sunk in the extension of the body identified by SA2, giving new information on characteristics and grades. // (3) DRILL-HOLE SA 8 (J. Conraux, July 1968): (2), 7, (2)pp tables, complete with 2 loose folding sheets as called for. This examined the southern extension of the ore body found by SA1, SA2, and SA5. Although copper was low, zinc and silver findings were high. // (4) DRILL-HOLE SA 13 (J. Conraux, July 1968): (2), 9pp, complete with 1 loose folding sheet as called for. This aimed to delimit the south-eastern part of the ore body identified by SA2, SA5 and SA6. // (5) DRILL-HOLE SA 18 (J. Conraux, August 1968): (2), 9pp, complete with 1 loose folding sheet as called for. This continued operations described in SA 13. // (6) SUMMARY REVIEW (J. Delfour, June 1970): (2), 21pp + 1 full-page Location Map + 3 sheets bound in as called for (full-page Location Map; folding Section for Drill-Hole 26; folding map showing Jabal Sayid Gossan Drill Sites 1/2K), complete with 3 loose Appendices in folder as called for. This describes the work of BRGM, geology, structure, mineralisation, exploration and extension guidelines, drilling, and ground water exploration.
