The document of an amazing project. One of the Angola 3, Herman Wallace infamously spent over 4 decades in solitary confinement at notorious Angola prison in Louisiana. American artist Jackie Summell after 2 years of correspondence posed a question to Wallace, asking him to imagine his dream house. This project became an 11 year collaboration producing an exhibition that traveled to over a dozen countries and was the basis for the documentary film Herman's House. Sadly, Wallace passed away in 2013 of liver cancer, less than a week after he was freed from prison and granted a new trial. An uncommon and important book.
