Listed as fiction by Wright II, 1145 - with the note, "Purportedly factual"), and as fact by Sabin 31121 ]. You read it and you decide. Hazen appears to be Jacob Andy Hazen of Muncy, Pennsylvania. He started life as a cobbler, then went to sea in the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, with a stop at Long Island. Read it and decide, truth or fiction, and send me a book report.

Condition is FAIR ; front inner joint started at the dedication pg., with a gap but the muslin is unbroken, covers holding, but some of the text signatures are a bit pulled, but not loose. Covers clean but with wear, wear and some loss to corners and spine ends. Text has a little underlining on the first 80 pgs and a few spots here and there. Naut. Stax.

Third Edition. 444 pp, b/w frontis and illustrations, the book is bound in full-embossed leather, owner name is written on the top of title page, the pages are tight, there is a 1 1/2" high damp stain on the bottom of the pages, it is visible on the first and last 10 to 12 pages and is light enough it does't interfer with the text, the indide hinges have been reinforced with library tape, the page edges are gilded, an outside crack in the front hinge has been nicely repaired, this is a good looking and solid book.
