Jahrhundert.Er war der Sohn von Johan Jacob Philips, der 1730 Rebecca Sieverts heiratete. Er wurde in der lutherischen Kirche in Amsterdam getauft und ging bei seinem Onkel Jan Caspar Philips in die Lehre. Er war zweimal verheiratet und hatte aus erster Ehe drei Töchter, die zu Hause getauft wurden. Am bekanntesten ist er für seine Zeichnungen von Amsterdamer Gebäuden in seinem ?Grachtenboek?, doch bestehen ernsthafte Zweifel an seiner Beteiligung daran. Er verfasste zudem ein Buch über Perspektive. Er starb in Amsterdam, wo er an der Brouwersgracht lebte. 3200 gr. Schlagworte: Architektur - Allgemein.
