Haynes was born in Fargo, N.D on September 27, 1884, to photographer F. Jay Haynes and Lily Snyder Haynes.Jack Haynes succeeded his father the family photography business eventually taking ownership of the Haynes Yellowstone National Park businesses in 1915." Haynes long association with the park earned him the nickname "Mr. Yellowstone". The jacket with some chips and wear.

Very Good +/Very Good. First Printing. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. xxi + 370 pages. 64 paintings in color. 100 drawings. Foreword by Roger Tory Peterson. Appreciations by Sigurd F. Olson and Harriet Buchheister. In slipcase. Jade-green decorative clothbound . Slipcase has some staining to lower edge. Staining appears to be coffee splatter. The lower spine corner has slight stain also, which doesn't affect the rest of the book. If not for this defect book would be in fine condition. A richly illustrated biography of one of America's greatest nature artists, written by his wife Florence, containing full-color reproductions of many of his nature paintings and dioramas, and superb nature drawings in pen and inck, scratchboard and pecil.
