Stephens Publishing Company, 1909. 1st ed. 181 pp. Portrait frontis., portrait. Orig. cloth. A very good copy. Narrative of a participant in the Walker filibuster in Nicaragua. William Walker was invited to bring an armed force into Nicaragua in 1855. He captured Granada and became commander in chief of the army. The new government was recognized by the USA in 1856, and Walker became its president but was forced out in 1857, "Best eye-witness account of Walker's bid for empire, by one of his most dependable officers."
