Original Blue Cloth Hardback. Condizione: Very Good. Presumed First Edition. 1888. Presumed 256pp. plus a 16 page publisher's catalogue. The author of this biography was Jane Sarson Cooper Ingham (1844-1906), an Anglo-Canadian writer who is probably best remembered today as the author of 'Wild Flowers, or, Poems'. In this volume she provides a sketch of the spiritual life of her friend Elizabeth Maw (1798-1886). We have little information about Elizabeth Maw other than that she was a respected Wesleyan Methodist. The book is bound in the original blue cloth covered boards with gold titling and black designs on the spine and black and gold titling and designs on the front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with shelf wear and light soiling on the boards. There are some patches of damp fading around the top corner of the front board and near the top edge of the rear board. The spine ends are bumped and there is some wear to the cloth on the corner tips. The contents are tight and clean although some of the pages have pencil underlining and/or pencil marks on the fore margin. There is a small water stain on the front endpapers around the top of the spine and a larger stain around the top of the spine and corners of the rear endpapers.…
