Bishop Janes makes this presentation because William Miller (like William Reeves) is a class-leader in the Methodist Episcopal Church. In addition to commending Miller, Janes writes about Reeves and recommends other reading. Miller's name is written in ink; Jane's name is printed. A handsome book - unfortunately no bookbindery ticket present but presentation/gift style binding certainly reflects work of a top-tier New York or Boston binder.
