L'ultima parte, "Historia del combattimento de' tredici Cavalieri Italiani con altrettanti Francesi fatto in Puglia tra Andria e Quarati", presenta frontespizio autonomo. Edizione originale di questa storia di Ruvo in Puglia, la prima storia della citta' scritta nel momento del rilancio ottocentesco della storiografia municipale, pubblicata nell'anno della morte del suo autore, Giovanni Jatta, che tratta nell'opera anche laÂpropria rivalita' con la famiglia Carafa inÂ"un bilancio a futura memoria della sua azione giuridica [di Jatta]Âcontro i Carafa, e che non a caso si conclude con l'elogio di Domenico Cotugno, mentre con ostentato disprezzo l'autore aveva rievocato un altro illustre ruvese, il magistrato Orazio Rocca, reo ai suoi occhi di non aver fatto nulla per liberare la sua patria dalla prepotenza baronale, pur essendo un perseguitato dei Carafa" ("Studi in onore di Michele Dell'Aquila", vol. 2, 2003, p. 142).
