This item oozes class right down to the Bouvier (Jackie Kennedy cl…an) text writer who had just written a book on the Swiss Rothchilds. This book is not listed in any of the usual places. I suspect it was a gift for VIPs at a cocktail party held at the Villa La Grange.but that is only a guess. Impossible to price accurately.obviously rare. Cream laid paper cover with impressed circular shield in red. Has menu style red and gold tassel used to hide the staples which are surprisingly used instead of a stitched binding. Only fault is faint crease-line on back cover. Enough said.

Quite uncommon account of french 1936 expedition to Karakoram to try Gasherbrum I (aka Hidden Peak, 8068m). Allain, Leininger & Neltner reached about 7069m up SW ridge before stopped by monsoon weather and difficult climbing. M. Ichac filmed two Sherpas flying past in an avalanche on retreat. They survived.

Amateur de montagne et de canoé, le médecin toulousain Georges GAUBERT a consacré à son ami Jean Arlaud plusieurs articles et une biographie publiée en 1939 chez Privat. C'est lui, en compagnie de Jean Escudier, qui a choisi les textes de Arlaud et participé avec Jean Cantegril à l'aventure éditoriale de la publication des "Carnets". JOINT un reçu de l'Imprimerie du Centre pour les "Carnets de Jean Arlaud" livrés à Mr. François Taillefer le 27 juillet 1965. BEL EXEMPLAIRE, bien relié.
