"Alas,… I am behind on so many deadlines right this minute that I don't dare indulge myself in what might just possibly be more fun."Jean Kerr [1922-2003] was an Irish American author and playwright. She received her master's degree from the Catholic University of America where she met then-professor Walter Kerr. She later married Kerr who went on to become a prominent New York drama critic. They collaborated on "Goldilocks", a short-lived Broadway musical. She subsequently wrote several highly successful plays, among them the Tony Award-winning "King of Hearts" and the comedy "Mary, Mary", which ran for more than 1,500 performances. Several collections were published of her many humorous magazine essays, the best known being the bestseller "Please Don't Eat the Daisies".

Ware was a major presence in British and American cinema, best known for his work on "Beat the Devil" (1953), "Room at the Top" (1959), "Our Man… in Havana" (1959), "Charade" (1963), and "The Spy Who Came in from the Cold" (1965). Based on the 1956 play of the same name by Margaret Vyner, who also wrote the screenplay, Victor and Hillary live in castle and get so down on their luck that they begin having tourists visit their castle. Millionaire Charles Delacro soon visits and takes a great liking to the home, as well as to Hillary and a love triangle quickly develops. Set in Hampshire, England, shot on location in Lacock and Surrey, England. Green titled wrappers.
