The modern city desired by Henri IV, the city of Reason that became more beautiful during the 18th century, the metamorphosed city of Baron Haussmann, the city of major works of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, all these cities overlap, mingle, and replace each other tirelessly, creating the fascinating landscape of a unique city. A sumptuous iconography, selected with relevance, and texts as varied as they are informed allow this work to take on a dual character, documentary and aesthetic, offering both a historical study and an artistic panorama of exceptional richness.
