Aggiungi al carrelloCondizione: FINE. First printing. An anthology containing works by relatively unknown young Black poets. Includes significant selection of poems by Charles Cooper (his first appearance in print), Kattie M. Cumbo, Julia Fields, Carole Gregory, William J. Harris, Lance Jeffers, Alicia Loy Johnson, James Arlington Jones, and Richar…d W. Thomas. While it notes that most of these poets had been published to some extent, most had not had as many poems published as were included here, and all are under the age of 50. Their work was part of a collective explosion of African-American creativity that defined the era's literary landscape. Lance Jeffers (1919Ð1985) whose work was known for it exploration of the African American experience went on to publish many volumes of poetry; Julia Fields, who was championed by Langston Hughes also published several influential collections as well as an award-winning childrenÕs book; William J. Harris was both a prolific poet and leading scholar on Amiri Baraka. Each section is preceded by a brief biographical note on the poet. Index of Titles. xv, 236 pp. Very good in gray cloth with gilt lettering on spine in a fair only dust jacket with several large chips, price-clipped.

Aggiungi al carrelloSoft cover. Condizione: Very Good. 253pp. Pictorial soft cover with title and title on spine. "Witherspoon" by Lance Jeffers that delves into the African American experience, exploring themes of identity, struggle, and resilience. The story is set against the backdrop of the civil rights movement and provides a deep, introspecti…ve look at the life of its protagonist, Witherspoon, as he navigates the complexities of race and society. Jeffers' writing is known for its powerful and evocative prose, capturing the emotional and social challenges faced by African Americans during this pivotal time in history. The novel is both a personal journey and a broader commentary on the societal issues of the era.
