Hathaway was Seigneur of the Channel Islands when the Germans invaded (1940-1945). Based on Jerrard Tickell's 1951 novel, about British soldiers during WWII… on the Channel Islands, attempting to save a prized cow from the capture of the Nazis. 8 x 10 inches. Some toning, with an ink notation on the verso, else Near Fine.
