Frances Jetter (illustratore). New York: Arbor House,[SFBC], (1985). First Science Fiction Book Club edition, first printing. First printing code 'P043' printed to page 215. This first SFBC edition was published October 1985, and has the same jacket art as the April 1985 release of the publisher's first edition. By the Hugo and six-time Nebula Award winning author. This suspenseful end-of-the-world novel that contains a bio-chip, nano-technology, some hard-science, AIs, consciousness, cyberpunk, and cosmology earned numerous accolades, winning the Apollo Award, finalist for the Hugo, Campbell, and Locus Awards, and nominations for the Nebula and BSFA Awards. A lovely, well-preserved SFBC first printing collectible. Square, tight and unread, a minuscule crimp to the lower spine edge's rear corner tip, else very nearly fine, in black boards with burgundy embossed titles to the spine; in a very nearly fine Frances Jetter illustrated dust jacket with still bright and UN-faded red spine titles, with a nice black background (that is commonly found quite vulnerable to white rub marks), with minute rubs to the upper and lower spine edges and corner tips; original printed 02354 code still intact to the rear panel.
