Trauma can be caused by different kinds of things and can happen to everyone: Not only firemen or policemen can be traumatized by what they have to deal with at work, trauma can also be caused by sexual abuse, wars, accidents and so on. Thus, a combat veteran can associate the sound of a helicopter with a horrifying battle experience or a survivor of a bad train crash can identify the sound of a locomotive with the trauma of the crash. This already leads us to possible consequences of a traumatic experience, called posttraumatic stress disorder or simply PTSD. In the following paragraphs, I will try to set up a general definition of trauma, see how the body and soul react to traumatic experiences and how a trauma can be expressed. After that, I will analyse Wolfgang Borchert's short story Die Küchenuhr, an after-war story about the bombings in Hamburg. I will try to see parallels between the theoretical part of this essy and the short story, in order to answer the main question of this essay, whether trauma can be considered as an invisible wound or not.

To discuss the topic of this paper, I am using Thomas Mann's best-selling novel 'Buddenbrooks' to try to analyse it from these different points of view. To examine the aspects of femininity, I will mainly focus on Antonie Buddenbrook, called Tony, and her brother Thomas, as they are from the same generation and are playing an important role from the beginning of the novel until its very end. First of all, I will start by trying to give a clear outline of what feminine or femininity is. After seeing some definitions and also paying attention to what women were supposed to be in the 1800's, we will see in what way they can be called restrictive. Of course, I also need to have a further look into the principle of the so-called patriarchy. To see if Thomas Mann can transform the restrictive definitions of the feminine from his novel into a platform for the critique of patriarchy, I will analyse the two main characters of his novel after the first theoretical part. This work can be seen as quite important as I will try to see if there is a connection between femininity and the decline of the 'Buddenbrooks'. Hopefully this will enlighten us on how Thomas Mann did or did not describe a critique towards patriarchy in his first novel.

What most people do not know, is that his story is close connected to another Middle High German romance by Wolfram von Eschenbach called 'Titurel'. But the essential question after reading a plot summary like this is: Why did he fail the first time when searching for the holy grail What did or did he not do Why did or did he not do this thing The answers to these questions will be covered in the following work.The first step to do so will be by tracing back Parzival's different forms of education he got, starting by his mother Herzeloyde when he was still a little child to Gurnemanz, lord of the castle in Grâharz, a little afterwards and finally by Trevrizent, a hermit and important character regarding the grail family. I will start by elucidating the different forms of education he got and then analysing them, in order to explain why Parzival acted the way he did. Another important step in my opinion will be a short characterisation of each 'teacher' he had, so we can better understand why they educated him in the way they did.

Whether it is on flyers, on the radio or on the television, everywhere we look, advertising is flooding us.We hear a specific melody coming from the radio and we know what product is meant; we see a little green crocodile in the left corner of a t-shirt and we directly know what brand it is from. At this stage, these two examples show us to what extent advertising is surrounding us. What is more, we can already observe a first tendency: advertising is not only using language, but it is also playing our minds with pictures and music. Most people link this term only to commercial and product advertising, but that definition is far too tight.

Dieser intermediale Vergleich wird uns zeigen, auf welch unterschiedliche Art und Weise die höfische Liebe dargestellt wird und welche Differenzierungen es hinsichtlich der minne im Film und in der Literatur gibt. Hierzu ist es wichtig anzumerken, dass es bis dato keine wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten über den Film gibt und es sich somit bei den unten stehenden Interpretationen um meine eigenen handelt, welche jedoch immer mit einem entsprechenden Zitat belegt sind. Des Weiteren ist es wichtig zu wissen, dass es sich bei dieser Arbeit nicht um die mittelalterliche Realität handelt, sondern um die fiktionale Welt, welche in der mittelalterlichen Literatur dargestellt wurde.

Spätestens in der Schule wird man dann im Geschichtsunterricht informiert, wiedie Ritter damals lebten und was zum zentralen Aufgabenfeld eines solchen Edelmannes gehörte.Auch in der Deutschstunde behandeln die Lehrer den Artusstoff und führen den Schülern die literarische Version des Ritters vor Augen. Genau auf diese Form wird in der vorliegenden Hausarbeit eingegangen. Exemplarisch für dieses Bild der Ritter sind die Verse 1-17 über König Artus im Iwein von Hartmann von Aue.Diese Anfangsverse verdeutlichen, dass König Artus viel geleistet hat und viel Ansehen, sowohl bei Gott als auch bei den Menschen erlangt hat und sein Name bis in alle Ewigkeit von großer Bedeutung sein wird. Es scheint also, als ob er zum Vorbild für alle die ihm nachfolgenden Ritter geworden wäre. Es werden Begriffe wie êre und rîters muote benutzt, was darauf schließen lässt, dass die Ritter aus der damaligen Zeit eine Art höfischen Ehrenkodex befolgen mussten, um diese Ziele zu erreichen. König Artus repräsentierte das Bild eines idealen Ritters, da er über verschiedene Tugenden verfügte. Genau diese Tugenden stehen im Mittelpunkt dieser Hausarbeit.Dafür wird zuerst ein allgemeiner Umriss des ritterlichen Tugendsystems gemacht, weil sie zum zentralen Bestandteil des Rittertums angehören. Anschließend wird das Tugendsystem erklärt und mit den wichtigsten Charakteristika ausgeführt werden. Kleine Mädchen träumen seit ihrer Kindheit von der perfekten Hochzeit mit ihrem Traumprinzen und auch in den verschiedenen Medien wird diese Thematik immer wieder aufgegriffen.Doch außerhalb der germanistischen Fachsprache klingt das Wort eher fremd, unnatürlich oder ironisch und man verbindet mit ihm schnell die Vorstellung einer komisch reglementierten 'Liebe', welche an eine vergangene Gesellschaftsform gebunden ist. Ähnlich verhält es sich mit der Rache und dem Betrug, zwei weiteren, wichtigen Bestandteilen des 'Nibelungenliedes'. Auch sie sind in der heutigen Gesellschaft leider von großer Bedeutung, begegnen uns regelmäßig in den Medien und bilden oft die Thematik von Filmen, Seifenopern oder Romanen. Doch erwartet uns im 'Nibelungenlied' eine andere Form von Betrug als die, die wir aus der modernen Gesellschaft kennen, oder hat sich der Begriff in den letzten Jahrhunderten überhaupt nicht verändert Da die Minne und der Betrug also zwei sehr wichtige Begriffe in der höfischen Dichtung sowie in der modernen Gesellschaft darstellen, erscheint es mir als angemessen, diese Thematik in meiner Bachelorarbeit zu behandeln. Nachdem zuerst die Grundlagen der minne und des Betrugs geschafft werden und sich herausstellen wird, ob die Liebe im Mittelalter wirklich so eigenartig reglementiert war, wird in der vorgelegten Arbeit näher erläutert werden, wie es überhaupt zu dieser Rache im 'Nibelungenlied' gekommen ist und welche Rolle die Minne hierbei gespielt hat. Die Untersuchung konzentriert sich vorrangig auf den ersten Teil des 'Nibelungenliedes'.

After providing a general definition of advertising and analysing its different techniques to influence peoples' behaviour, we will deal with the linguistic characteristics. Finally, after exposing the linguistic features of advertising, we shall analyse, whether advertising language could be seen as a 'Sondersprache'.Nowadays, we encounter advertising like 'Saturn: Geiz ist geil!' in the most different forms in our everyday life. Whether it is on flyers, on the radio or on the television, everywhere we look, advertising is flooding us.We hear a specific melody coming from the radio and we know what product is meant; we see a little green crocodile in the left corner of a t-shirt and we directly know what brand it is from. At this stage, these two examples show us to what extent advertising is surrounding us. What is more, we can already observe a first tendency: advertising is not only using language, but it is also playing our minds with pictures and music. Most people link this term only to commercial and product advertising, but that definition is far too tight. 24 pp. Englisch.

Das Idealbild eines Ritters begegnet jungen Menschen bereits früh in ihrer Kindheit, wenn man die berühmten Artusgeschichten liest oder einen entsprechenden Zeichentrickfilm im Fernsehen sieht. Spätestens in der Schule wird man dann im Geschichtsunterricht informiert, wiedie Ritter damals lebten und was zum zentralen Aufgabenfeld eines solchen Edelmannes gehörte.Auch in der Deutschstunde behandeln die Lehrer den Artusstoff und führen den Schülern die literarische Version des Ritters vor Augen. Genau auf diese Form wird in der vorliegenden Hausarbeit eingegangen. Exemplarisch für dieses Bild der Ritter sind die Verse 1-17 über König Artus im Iwein von Hartmann von Aue.Diese Anfangsverse verdeutlichen, dass König Artus viel geleistet hat und viel Ansehen, sowohl bei Gott als auch bei den Menschen erlangt hat und sein Name bis in alle Ewigkeit von großer Bedeutung sein wird. Es scheint also, als ob er zum Vorbild für alle die ihm nachfolgenden Ritter geworden wäre. Es werden Begriffe wie êre und rîters muote benutzt, was darauf schließen lässt, dass die Ritter aus der damaligen Zeit eine Art höfischen Ehrenkodex befolgen mussten, um diese Ziele zu erreichen. König Artus repräsentierte das Bild eines idealen Ritters, da er über verschiedene Tugenden verfügte. Genau diese Tugenden stehen im Mittelpunkt dieser Hausarbeit.Dafür wird zuerst ein allgemeiner Umriss des ritterlichen Tugendsystems gemacht, weil sie zum zentralen Bestandteil des Rittertums angehören. Anschließend wird das Tugendsystem erklärt und mit den wichtigsten Charakteristika ausgeführt werden. In diesem Kontext erscheint es wichtig zu überprüfen, ob die Ritter in Hartmanns von Aue Werk Iwein diesem Idealbild entsprechen.Daraufhin wird dieser klassische Epos unter demselben Augenmerk mit einer neuen Rezeption, dem Jugendroman von Felicitas Hoppe , verglichen werden. 20 pp. Deutsch.

Nachdem die Frage nach diesem wichtigen Thema geklärt wurde, wird ein Vergleich zwischen Hartmanns 'Erec' und dem Hollywoodstreifen 'King Arthur' unter dem Blickpunkt der minne gemacht. Dieser intermediale Vergleich wird uns zeigen, auf welch unterschiedliche Art und Weise die höfische Liebe dargestellt wird und welche Differenzierungen es hinsichtlich der minne im Film und in der Literatur gibt. Hierzu ist es wichtig anzumerken, dass es bis dato keine wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten über den Film gibt und es sich somit bei den unten stehenden Interpretationen um meine eigenen handelt, welche jedoch immer mit einem entsprechenden Zitat belegt sind. Des Weiteren ist es wichtig zu wissen, dass es sich bei dieser Arbeit nicht um die mittelalterliche Realität handelt, sondern um die fiktionale Welt, welche in der mittelalterlichen Literatur dargestellt wurde. 20 pp. Deutsch.

Ähnlich verhält es sich mit der Rache und dem Betrug, zwei weiteren, wichtigen Bestandteilen des 'Nibelungenliedes'. Auch sie sind in der heutigen Gesellschaft leider von großer Bedeutung, begegnen uns regelmäßig in den Medien und bilden oft die Thematik von Filmen, Seifenopern oder Romanen. Doch erwartet uns im 'Nibelungenlied' eine andere Form von Betrug als die, die wir aus der modernen Gesellschaft kennen, oder hat sich der Begriff in den letzten Jahrhunderten überhaupt nicht verändert Da die Minne und der Betrug also zwei sehr wichtige Begriffe in der höfischen Dichtung sowie in der modernen Gesellschaft darstellen, erscheint es mir als angemessen, diese Thematik in meiner Bachelorarbeit zu behandeln. Nachdem zuerst die Grundlagen der minne und des Betrugs geschafft werden und sich herausstellen wird, ob die Liebe im Mittelalter wirklich so eigenartig reglementiert war, wird in der vorgelegten Arbeit näher erläutert werden, wie es überhaupt zu dieser Rache im 'Nibelungenlied' gekommen ist und welche Rolle die Minne hierbei gespielt hat.
