Justin Cronin (b. 1962) has been awarded the PEN/Heminway Award for Debut Novel, the Stephen Crane Prize, and a Whiting Award. "The Passage", the first book of this trilogy, debuted on the New York Times hardcover fiction best-seller list at number three, and remained for seven weeks on the list.
