Part Four is given over to a consideration of observable relationships between dress and social organization, as exhibited by age and sex roles and the social structures of family, polity, economy, religion, caste, and class. Parts Five and Six are concerned with, respectively: significance of clothing for the individual as biological organism as well as normal or deviant social self; and patterns of change and stability in dress and the related topic of fashion.
