Blue cloth, mild color fading along spine and along rear board's joint margin. Several small dark stains upon fore-edge shallowly affecting a few leaves at margins. Legendary Hollywood stunt pilot Frank G. Tallman (1919-1978) co-founded Tallmantz Aviation in 1961 with famed stunt pilot and air racer Paul Mantz (1903-1965) for the purpose of supplying pilots and aircraft for movie and television productions. Among Tallman's many notable aviation feats were his stunt flying for the 1963 movie "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" as well as being aerial supervisor for "The Great Waldo Pepper" in 1975 and aerial coordinator and pilot for the TV series "Baa Baa Black Sheep." Doubleday generally specifies their first printings by a "First Edition" statement upon their copyright pages and thereafter omitting any indentifying statement(s) for later printings. However, as copies among past inventory were all later printings readily identified by number lines upon their copyright pages, Doubleday evidently reversed their standard procedure leaving the presumption that, with this particular book, first printings are unstated.
