Utrecht (Ultraiecti), ex officina Ioannis a Doorn, 1643, folio, full parchment spitsel binding with handwritten title on spine, [18]+191+[17]+331+12+[40]+180+[32] pp., with a half title and engraved titlepage, with lovely woodcut decorative elements, a large map (Taxandria), some engravings depicting coins, woodcut depictions of… seals, with separate titlepages for: "Historia Episcoporum ultraiectensium (.)" and "Lamberti Hortensii (.)". Full parchment spitsel binding with yap edges, solid construction, clean textpages, stained parchment, handwritten title on spine, with the original headbands intact. Wonderful edition of the medieval chronicle of the northern Netherlands by Johannes de Beka (14th cy) with appendix by Suffridus Petri (1527-1597), and the history of the bishops of Utrecht by Wilhelmus Heda (ca. 1460-1525). Followed by the work of historian Lambertus Hortensius van Montfoort (1500-1574), the 1st edition of which appeared in 1546.
