Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book is a collection of 15 love elegies written by Ovid in exile. The poems explore themes of love, loss, and longing, and are addressed to his wife and various mistresses. The elegies are written in a confessional style that gives readers a glimpse into the author's inner thoughts and feelings. They are full of passion, wit, and humor, and offer a unique perspective on the human experience of love. The book is significant because it provides a valuable insight into the life and mind of one of the most famous poets of antiquity. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…

( Gewicht 300 Gramm ) ( Weitere Bilder auf Anfrage ) / Artikel 16232 /// (In Latin with a few Greek lines). The title page with a woodcut vignette and a presumably erroneous indication of the year of publication as 1577, then follow 3 unnamed leaves *Dedicatio*, after which follow 3 unnamed leaves *De Metris Horatianis tractatis, 564 pages (unfortunately pages 337 340 are missing), 33 unnamed leaves index. Contemporary paperback with red edge all around, small 8° (13 x 8.5 cm). In rather poor condition: cover heavily rubbed, corners and edges badly bumped, binding heavily loose. Inside, the first 4 pages of the Dedication have apparently been replaced by the same pages from a more recent edition in older times (with the printing date Roterodami Idibus Novemb. 1667). Unfortunately, I cannot decide whether the other old pages *De Metris Horatianis* with 3 unnamed leaves are as complete. In the text, all pages except pages 337-340 are complete. The extensive index with 33 pages appears to be complete. The title page is heavily browned, damaged (and apparently restored in ancient times), with marginal damage, creased, and dusty. Some pages are somewhat dusty, finger-stained, some with some foxing or light browning, some creased, and some dog-eared. A few pages have a wormhole and minor letter loss. The inserted first pages of the dedication are glued to the inner fold and some have marginal tears. Some pages are loose or severely loosened, and some pages have marginal damage. The inside covers contain annotations by a very old hand in faded ink, as do marginalia and marginal notes, as well as underlinings and markings by a very old hand in faded ink.
