It became truly an international meeting with almost 350 people, and about half of the participants coming from around the world, from Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia, South Africa, Sweden and other countries - with more than 90 original presentations on the health effects, assessment, prevention and control of bioaerosols, fungi and mycotoxins at home or in the workplace. The stated learning objectives were to Discuss current data and new information on exposure, assessment, analytical methods, applied research, pathology, epidemiology, microbiology, health effects, prevention and mitigation of bioaerosol exposure  Recognize the importance of bioaerosol exposure and adverse health effects; Develop a multi-disciplinary team approach for the recognition and management of bioaerosol exposure.
