Hardcover. Dust Jacket Included. 1st Edition. Handsomely bound in navy blue cloth stamped brightly in gold on the front boards and the spine. Very clean and tight throughout. In a very good plus complete dust jacket with the original price of $1.75 at the top of the inside front flap. Tiny chips missing at the top and bottom of the spine ends and little nicks at the corners. Scarce in jacket, especially inscribed to a fellow psychiatrist. This copy is inscribed in black ink: "To Dr. Arthur H. Ruggles with the compliments and warm regards of the author, John A.P. Millett, Oct. 4th 1938." Dr. Ruggles was a noted psychiatrist who was the physician in chief of Butler Hospital from 1922 until his retirement in 1948. He is also the author of "Inside a Mental Hospital." First Edition with copyright date of 1938 and no subsequent printings listed.
