Hardcover. Condizione: New. 1st Edition. Contents: Preface. 1. The architecture of Gonpa Gang. 2. Unveiling a unique Nyingma Pantheon: the art of Gonpa Gang. 3. The Lama and the Nuns: A history of Kunzang Choling. Notes. Works cited. In Nepal's Mustang District, on the right bank of the Kali Gandaki river facing the large settlement of Tshug (Chusang), is a low hill known as Gönpa Gang, the "convent ridge." Standing on the ridge are the remains of a Buddhist site, Künzang Chöling. This book brings to light a forgotten gem of Nepal's architectural and artistic heritage, while the archives of the community offer a window onto the lives of the lama who built it "as a blessing for the land," and of the nuns for whom it was a centre of spiritual activity for almost three centuries. Condizione: Sehr gut. Original hardcover with dust jacket, 143 pages, numerous illustrations, very good condition. Monograph about a temple in Mustang, Gompa Kang near Chhuksang. Unusually for Mustang, it belongs to the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism, built at the end of the 17th century. The structure of the temple is currently renovated, with little protection for the artworks, this is therefore a valuable documentation of a true encyclopaedia of Nyingma iconography. Also much about the history of the temple based on unpublished local texts - an incredibly throrough study. Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 550.…
