Aggiungi al carrelloTaschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - 'Alias the Deacon' is a spirited and engaging three-act comedy-drama that captures the charm and wit of early 20th-century American theatre. Written by John B. Hymer, the play centers on the enigmatic figure of a gentlemanly card shark who adopts the persona of a pious deacon. While navigating the social landscape of a small-town hotel, the protagonist utilizes his sharp intellect and sleight-of-hand skills not for malice, but to intervene in the lives of those around him, often providing a unique form of justice.

Prima edizione
Soft cover. Condizione: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 12mo, printed wrappers, [8]pp., the text leaves printed with a scarlet botting in the center of the page. A charming, teasing promotional for the movie of the same name, playing at the Capitol Theatre in Springfield MA. Its plot revolves about the sordid consequences of an unwanted pregnancy, adoption, murder and such. Jewish playwright Shipman (1883-1937) and Kentucky native Hymer (1875-1953) worked together and were associated with the Lakewood Theatre Colony in Maine. Highly ephemeral. A good+ copy.
