Based on the book of the same name recounting the corruption of the 1969 United Mine Workers' presidential election, and the murder of Joseph "Jock" Yablonski that followed. Set in Pittsburgh, PA and environs, shot on location in Pitsburgh and Nemacolin, Pennsylvania and Ontario, Canada.… Self-wrappers, with title page integral on the front wrapper, dated August 8, 1985, noted as Final Draft, with credits for screenwriter Scott Spencer. 114 leaves, with last page of text numbered 107. Xerographic duplication, with white revision pages throughout, dated variously between 8/19/85 and 8/22/85. Pages Fine, wrapper Fine, bound with three gold brads.

Attractive menu, printed in black and gold, on card bifolium, folding into two 8 x 17 cm. panels, partly detached. In fair condition, lightly aged and worn. Calligraphic design, with 'Pagani's' printed in gilt on the cover, and the menu itself on the recto of the second leaf, facing some calligraphic flourishes on the verso of t…he first leaf. The two inscriptions are both in pencil, mainly on the recto of the second leaf but with the second extending somewhat onto the facing page. The upper of the two, signed by 'A. C. Mackenzie', is dated 4 November 1909, and carries a bar of music ('Benedictus') and the inscription: 'Long life and happiness to H. Finck.' The second, signed 'J. Mackenzie Rogan', also has a bar of music, with the inscription 'Many happy returns'. Someone (presumably Finck) has made a pun in pencil on the facing page, by adding the words 'meet at Pagani's' to the heading 'Menu' (i.e. 'Men you meet at Pagani's'). Finck's 'In the Shadows' was one of the last tunes played as RMS Titanic went down.

Democratic-leaning Mexico President Benito Juarez (Paul Muni) threatens France's rule and battles with Napolean III's (Claude Rains) newly installed Emperor Maximilian (Brian Aherne). Nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor and Best Cinematography. 10 x 8.25 inches. Light edgewear, else Near Fine.

Based on the 1958 radio drama by Giles Cooper, about a boarding school teacher who begins to suspect his predecessor of having been murdered by the students. OCLC l…ocates no holdings. AMPAS shows one holding. Set in Cornwall, and shot on location in Llandudno, Wales, and in Sonning, Berkshire. Missing front wrapper, with pink rear wrapper. Title page present, dated May, 1970, noted as REVISED, with credits for playwright Giles Cooper and screenwriter Simon Raven. 151 leaves, with last page of text numbered 132. Xerographic duplication, rectos only, with blue revision pages laid in throughout, dated August 7, 1970. Pages Poor, wrapper Poor, with moderate dampstaining affecting the last 60 leaves and rear wrapper, bound with a silver prong.
