The author takes aim at the ideas of Karl Marx and dismantles them by applying them to real-world examples. The book takes a practical approach, challenging the idea that all value in a good is generated by labor, as Marx posited. The author shows that factors such as utility and use are just as important as the time spent creating a good. Furthermore, the author argues that the profit generated from the sale of goods is not stolen from workers but is a fair return for the risk and capital provided by the employer. The book is a thorough debunking of the economic theories of socialism and a clear explanation of how a free market economy actually works. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Zustand: Hervorragend | Seiten: 560 | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | First published in 1912, this vintage book deals with the subject of death, with a particular focus on spiritualism, a religious movement based on the belief that spirits of the deceased exist and are able to communicate with living people. Contents include: "The Scientific Aspect of Life and Death", "The Signs of Death", "Rigor Mortis", "Trance, Catalepsy, Suspended Animation, etc.", "Premature Burial", "Cases", "Burial, Cremation, Mummification, etc.", "The Causes of Death", "Sudden Death", etc. Hereward Carrington (1880 - 1958) was a famous British-born American paranormal investigator and author. His focus was telepathy, and among his subjects were many of the most well-known cases of ostensibly psychic ability of the time. Carrington wrote over 100 books on related subjects during his life. Other notable works by thus author include: "The Physical Phenomena of Spiritualism" (1907), "The Coming Science" (1908), and "Eusapia Palladino and her Phenomena" (1909). Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this volume now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition complete with the original text and artwork.

This book provides an astute analysis of the United States' prominent role in the advancement of international arbitration as a means of settling disputes peacefully, thereby avoiding wars and preserving global harmony. The author delves into historical accounts of the evolution of diplomacy and international law, giving special attention to the contributions made by American leaders, organizations, and policies. By recounting the successful precedents set by the United States in resolving conflicts through arbitration, ranging from the negotiation of the Jay Treaty in 1794 to the establishment of the Permanent Court of Arbitration at The Hague, this book underscores the nation's dedication to peaceful diplomacy. Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. A very nice copy of the remarkably scarce 1911 first edition of prominent psychical researcher Hereward Carrington and John R. Meader's comprehensive exploration of mortality that bridges physiological science with spiritualism. This large book aims to demystify death, treating it as a scientific problem rather than a taboo subject, while strongly arguing for the survival of consciousness. This is the authentic true first of 1911. Pages are very good: a small inscription of previous owner (parapsychologist Alan Gaud) is on front FEP, apart from this no other inscriptions, notes or major foxing issues, and no labels or stickers. Just general expected overall age wear to pages. Binding is very good. One of the photo pages has slight looseness but is still attached Overall the book has a slight 'lean'. Black boards are very good, clean and tight, just some wearing to corners. Gilt 'DEATH' title and butterfly are very good (see photos). Spine is very nice with all gilt of letters and illustration clear. Some superficial wearing to top and base of spine, but nothing structural. Illustrated (all present), indexed, appendices, bibliography. A really nice copy of a very scarce edition. See photos which show the book in clear detail. All photos are of the copy for sale, we don't use stock photos. More photos available, please just ask, likewise contact us if you have any questions.
