Large thick 8vo, leather spine and tips with original paper covered boards, double frontispiece map, 801pp. Spine and tips worn, and small section of paper cover missing from top cover. Also, some minor edgewear. Very minor foxing; very good overall. Brodhead covers the earliest period of New York history from 1609 to 1664. This is essentially the Dutch period, which includes coverage of Peter Minuit, Wouter Van Twiller, and Peter Stuyvesant. Also provides coverage of the Indian War and conflict with the English.
