Brown and tan zebra stripe patterned cloth. Reddish-brown top edge; deckle fore-edge. B/w pictorial endpapers; past bookseller's pencil note at top of front free endpaper. Past owner's Christmas 1940 gift inscription on page 3. Author's ink signature "Osa Johnson" boldly written on page 2. Interior leaves otherwise remains bright and clean. Binding is firm (this pre-war printing utilizes a heavier paper stock causing the combined thickness of text block and boards being approximately 4.25cm whereas wartime printings were much thinner). A very good+ copy in a very good- dust jacket.
