The opening chapter starts with the passage of Ordinance of Secession by the Virginia Convention. Continues with chapters detailing a variety of campaigns by both the Southern and Northern armies. Ends with a chapter telling the causes of the failure, including a inefficient financial system, bad impressment laws, deficiency of small-arms at the South and more.
