Das schöne und seltene Werk über Gräser von Joseph Franz von Jacquin, Sohn des ebenso bedeutenden Botanikers Nicolaus Joseph Jaquin wird meist in verkü…rzter Form 'Eclogae graminum rariorum' genannt. Von der noch geplanten 5. Lieferung wurden im Jahr 1844 lediglich Probedrucke von 8 Tafeln angefertigt die nur in wenigen Exemplaren bekannt sind; ein Drucktitel ist nie erschienen. Vorliegend alle offiziell mit Text erschienenen Lieferungen 1-4 mit den Taf. 1-40 und Text S. 1-64 mit den Vorder- und Rückseiten der Original-Umschläge. Unbeschnitten und breitrandig. Einband etwas berieben und fleckig, Papier teilweise gleichmäßig schwach gebräunt, Tafel 37 mit blassem Braunfleck im Zentrum, sonst sauber und nahezu fleckenfrei. The beautiful and rare work on grasses by Joseph Franz von Jacquin, son of Nicolaus Joseph Jaquin. Only proofs of 8 plates of the planned 5th edition were produced in 1844, of which only a few copies are known; a printed title never appeared. Here all officially published volumes 1-4 with text, including plates 1-40 and text pp. 1-64 with the front and back covers of the original wrappers. Untrimmed and with wide margins. Boards rubbed and mildly stained. Paper partly evenly faintly browned, plate 37 with pale brown spot in the center, otherwise clean and almost spotless. la Gewicht in Gramm: 1200.
