Vintage black-and-white hand tinted color studio still photograph from the 1938 film. Remake of the 1929 film "The Idle Rich," and both films based on Edgar Franklin's 1925 play "White Collars." A wealthy businessman moves in with his girlfriend's family in an attempt to rescue their relationship. The second MGM film featuring Lana Turner. Shot on location in California. 10 x 8 inches. Near Fine with soiling and a manuscript notation to the verso.

Vintage studio still photograph from the 1958 film, showing uncredited actor Russell Nype. Newspaper clippings and reference library stamps on the verso. A comedy of errors about a married man who comes to believe that he has impregnated the owner of an adoption agency, and that she will serve as the surrogate. From the archive of the PIX Agency, an American photo house that acted as an intermediary between emigre photographers (as well as those still living in Europe) and the American magazine and newspaper market between 1935-1969. 8 x 10 inches, archivally matted on a 11 x 14 inch mat. Very Good, with annotations in manuscript ink on the recto regarding cropping, and a small splash on the right edge.

Vintage oversize, double weight, borderless still photograph from the 1961 musical film, based on both the 1958 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, and the 1957 novel by C.Y. Lee. Nominated for five Academy Awards. Shot, struck, and mounted by the film's still photographer, Bob Willoughby, with his ASMP rubber stamp on the verso. Full provenance available. After studying with Saul Bass at the Kann Institute of Art in Los Angeles, photographer Robert Willoughby began working for magazines such as "Life," "Look," and "Harper's Bazaar" in the late 1940s. He spent the next 20-plus years as a set photographer for every major studio and magazine, with his images seen in print literally every week of his career. Willoughby's photographs are in the permanent collections of ten museums, including The National Portrait Galleries in Washington, DC and London, the Bibliotheque Nationale de France, The Museum of Modern Art, and The Tate Modern. 13.5 x 9.5 inches. Six vintage reference photographs from the 1955 film, showing actor and choreographer Bob Fosse rehearsing dance steps with Janet Leigh and others on the set. Five with mimeo snipes on the versos, and all six with stamp of Columbia Pictures. Based on the 1940 play by Joseph A. Fields and Jerome Chodorov, about two sisters who move from Ohio to New York City, settling in a derelict basement apartment in Greenwich Village.
